SHELLEY BLOG #4 WEEK 3

In class, my teacher is teaching us how to describe the location of something or somebody. I really like this particular class. It is very interesting to me and also I'm learning new words. The words that I'm learning is also building my vocabulary, so therefore I can hold a conversation with someone. Last week, we learned how to describe what a person looks like and that was very interesting too. Now when tomorrow comes, I can't wait to see what is next. I really like my teacher. She really makes sure that we all understand before she goes to the next lesson. Before I leave I want to thank her for everything. And when I'm gone, she'll never be forgotten.


On Tuesday, Erica, her mom and I walked over to the river. The name of the river is Rio Tormes. And the bridge that we had to cross is the Roman Bridge. That was a beautiful river and it was about 2 to 3 blocks long, to me. But it didn't matter because I was so excited to see it. All this time I've been here and didn't know that it was there. I took so many beautiful pictures of the river, bridge and of the buildings on the back side of the school. One picture that I took was of a blue tree. Of course, it was painted but, it was very different. Because it was big, it took us about one and a half hour to view it in it's entirety. I'm so glad that I had the chance to see it.


Tambien, en martes yo fui a Estaban Catedral. Fui con Erica y su madre. Era a las siete de la noche. Cuando estaba alli, habia una masa catolica en la sesion. El edificio fue muy bonito y muy grande. La gente escuchaba y algunas miraba. Las pinturas fue grande y adjustar con de aureo.

SHELLEY BLOG #3 WEEK 3

Hoy, yo quiero terminar toda mi tarea. Yo quiero ir a Portugal este proximo fin de semana. Yo quiero disfrutar del viaje. No quiero preocupar me de nada. Yo quiero tener mas tiempo el fin de semana aqui en Salamanca tambien. Yo quiero ver todo alli y tomar muchas fotografias. Ojala, todo vay bien.


I am having so many problems with completing my blogs. I think that it is time consuming trying to do so. What is meant by that is, we have to compete with other students to use the computer. Sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes or better just to get on. It should not be an inconvenience for us to write about out experience if we have to go through this. Or we shouldn't have to take the initiative and pay to use the computer. That is money that wasn't counted into my budget. I don't mind completing the work but, it's something that I feel that could have waited until we returned home. And because it's taking time out of us when we can be exploring different things here in Salamanca. Not spending most of the day to input information in the computer. Please don't think that I'm complaining, but I thought that this is something you should be informed about.


Today in class, somehow my teacher lost me for the entire class period. Any other day I can keep up and understand perfectly. But today, I was totally lost. She was teaching us Preterite Perfecto, Indefinido and Imperfect. Last week, we briefly discussed it and everything was O.K.. Today I don't know what happened. It was only for that particular class. Then for the rest of the day, I was back to normal maybe it was a Monday morning thing. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

SHELLEY BLOG #2 WEEK 3

Today(Friday) was the first time that I didn´t go home for lunch. I needed extra time to complete my work before the deadline. I really wanted to complete all my blogs, so when the weekend comes I wouldn´t have to worry about nothing. I want to go on an excursion before we leave. I really want to go to Toledo but I changed my mind and now I´m going to Madrid. I want to, at least, go somewhere so I can have some experiences to share with my family and friends at home. Hopefully, as goes well and I will have a whole lot to talk about later.


Every morning, on my way to school, I always see the mailman going inside the bank. His uniform is this bright yellow outfit. And he rides a bicycle to deliver the mail and pick it up. The mail is kept in a box, on the back of his bike, about the size of a igloo cooler. Compared to the mail in the United States, I couldn´t imagine how many pieces that are going in and out of each establishment (approx one, lol). Also, why aren´t they walking with push carts or driving around? Then, after school I never see any mail carriers. Maybe, that has a lot to do with the mail amount that is being delivered. Even though he may not have a lot of work, he´s getting plenty of exercise on that bike.


Ayer estube en casa. Ayer fue un dia de descando. Viendo la television y comiendo. Yo estudie mi tarea. Prepare mi ropa para la escuela. Estube haciendo fotografias. Y escribiendo tarjetas postales a mi familia y amigos.

SHELLEY BLOG # 1 WEEK 3

This week in class, I met two guys from the United States. Their names are Robert and Cliff. Robert is from California and Cliff is from New Jersey. They both are very young because everyday in class all the talk about is how their night went. Or sometimes, they are half way sleep in class. How we met is that they asked to use my pencil sharpener, and since they were speaking English I started to ask questions. They were telling me that they had a lay over in London. And I told them that mine was in Philadelphia. In class, Robert knows enough to keep up. But Cliff, he´s usually lost and not even trying, in my opinion. But hopefully, at the end we all are on key with the information that is being provided.



Today, on our break, my teacher took time out and bought chocolates for a girl in class. Today was her 20th birthday. Then we sung Happy Birthday to her. Also, my teacher taught us how to sing Happy Birthday in Spanish.The reason why I´m writing about this in my blog, is because I was so amazed. I thought that what she did was so thoughtful. Here´s my teacher would buy a gift for a perfect stranger with no problem. That just go to show that, although she don´t actually know her, it was no a big deal to celebrate her birthday.


El fin de semana pasado, yo fui a Madrid. Yo realmente pasarlo bien, divertirme. Peero, hance mucho calor. Nosotras viajamos en autobus a la ciudad.Nosotras fuimos a el Museo de Prado. En el museo hay pinturas historicas. Tomamos muchas fotografias de la ciudad y de nosotras. Yo use las palabras que he aprendido para hablar con las personas. Algun dia yo deseo volver a esa ciudad.
